SUMMARY AND DISEASE BURDEN
- On 04 March 2022, an active COVID-19 case was confirmed at Vila Central Hospital who had no travel history, indicating transmission at community level.
- As of 07 June the following recommendations have been made:
- Torres group (Hiu, Toga, Loh, Tequa, Metoma) Vanua Lava and Gaua to move to Recovery Level 1 and the rest of the Banks group (Merelava, Merig, Ureparapara) to remain at COVID-19 Alert Level 1. Mota and Motalava to move to Alert level 3.
- Tanna and Aneityum – COVID 19 Alert Level 3 and Aniwa and Futuna to remain at COVID-19 Alert Level 1. Erromango is now at Recovery level 3
- Pentecost to move to Recovery Level 1 and Ambae and Maewo are now at COVID 19 Alert Level 3.
- All the islands of Malampa province remain at COVID-19 Alert Level 1.
- Efate and its offshore islands to remain at Recovery Level 1 and Epi is now at Alert Level 3. Tongoa and Shepherds group (Makira, Buninga, Mataso, Emae, Tongariki) to remain at COVID 19 Alert Level 1.
- Santo and its offshore islands and Malo Island to move to Recovery Level 1
- A total of 10338 confirmed cases have been reported since the beginning of 2022.
- 83 new confirmed cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, 10 in Shefa Province (Efate, Nguna), 33 in Sanma Province (Santo), 4 in Torba province (Vanua Lava), 15 in Tafea Province (Tanna and Aneityum), and 21 in Penama Province (Ambae, Pentecost). The accuracy of the data is based on the accuracy of the case notification. **Discrepancies with previous reports result from change in the way data are reported**
- Maewo Island first reported its first case on 2nd June 2022. To date, a total of 11 cases have been reported in Maewo.
- Aniwa Island reported 2 border cases on 30 May 2022.
- No hospitalization is reported during this period.
