What is Quarantine and Isolation? Isolation and quarantine are standard public health measures taken to protect the public to stop or limit the spread of disease.
Quarantine
Quarantine separates people who are well but may have been exposed to the virus to monitor if they become sick.
It is a precautionary measure to ensure anyone who may have been exposed to COVID-19 does not get sick or accidently spread the virus.
You must stay in a designated location and not leave to go to any other place.
Family and friends will not be able to visit you.
You must stay in quarantine for 14 days to ensure you do not develop any symptoms or become sick.
Isolation
Isolation separates sick people from people who are not sick.
It is often a precautionary measure. If someone meets the criteria for a suspected case, they will be tested.
