In the exercise of the Powers conferred on me by subsection 21A (2) of the Public Health Act [CAP 234], I, The Honorable SILAS MELVE BULE, Minister of Health, make the following Order.

The Declaration of the Public Health Order No. 6 of 2022 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

This Order commences on the day on which it is made, which is today, 5th of March, 2022.

First is definition:

For the Purpose of this Order, unless the context otherwise requires:

Essential services means the following services:

  1. Health services
  2. Television and broadcasting network
  3. air and sea transport
  4. bakery
  5. Public road transport
  6. Supply and distribution of fuel and Petrol
  7. Supermarkets and shops selling groceries
  8. financial institutions
  9. Vanuatu Police Force including its policing, maritime and mobile elements
  10. all staff employed by the Department of Correctional Services as correctional center managers, correctional officers or to other positions within a correctional center
  11. Judicial services including judges, magistrates, court personnel and lawyers that are required to appear before a court
  12. any other services approved by the Minister of Health

Condition or restriction includes a prohibition, a curfew and any other public health measures required to be taken under this order.

Prohibitions:

The Following prohibitions apply on Efate and its offshore islands:

    3. services) are closed and must not require any employee to attend the workplace; and
  3. all church gatherings are prohibited; and
  4. all social events and public gatherings are prohibited.

Curfew:

  1. A curfew is applied on Efate and its offshore islands from 6pm to 6am in the next 72 hours.
  2. The curfew does not apply to:
    1. persons requiring emergency health services and persons assisting them to get emergency health services: and
    2. Persons providing essential services All essential services that operate must enforce social distancing and all COVID-19 protocols at all times
      A person must wear mask at all times on the COVID-19 Alert level 2;
      In the case of Public Transport owners and drivers – they must ensure that strict COVID-19 protocols are adhered to for all Public Transport Services.
