Targeted COVID-19 Testing in Quarantine an Additional Precaution

Port Vila, 18 September 2020: The Vanuatu Ministry of Health confirms that targeted testing in quarantine for COVID-19 is being being conducted as an additional precaution for those entering Vanuatu from areas classified as high risk.

Vanuatu Celebrates Successful End to Phase 1 of Repatriation Plan

1,528 repatriates safely home. Vanuatu remains COVID-19 free.

Port Vila, 10 July 2020: The Vanuatu Ministry of Health confirms that in support of NDMO and other Government agencies, Phase 1 of the Government’s repatriation plan has been successfully completed. 1,528 repatriates are now safely home with loved ones and Vanuatu remains COVID-19 free.

Health acknowledges support from Pacific neighbour

Vanuatu Celebrates World No Tobacco Day with a strong call to youth during COVID-19

World No Tobacco Day is held each year on the 31 May to highlight the dangers posed by the use of tobacco products.

To mark the occasion this year, Wan Smol Bag Theatre and Rainbow Theatre have worked to produce a song and video advertisement to support Ministry of Health in making the public aware of the dangers of tobacco use and it’s link to a higher risk of a severe case of COVID-19.

Repatriation of citizens and residents commences this week

Port Vila, 27 May 2020: The Vanuatu Ministry of Health confirms that they are working carefully with NDMO and other Government agencies to manage the safe repatriation of Ni-Vanuatu citizens and residents commencing this week.

Following NDMO's 'Instrument of Directions to Government Agencies relating to COVID-19 and Tropical Cyclone Harold (Amendment) Order No. 77 of 2020' dated 23 May under the Disaster Risk Management Act, people approved by NDMO to be repatriated or travel to Vanuatu will do so under strict conditions imposed by NDMO and the Ministry of Health.
